Terms of use
The rules for using invi8, written the way we would explain them to a friend. Using the service means you agree to them.
Last updated: 5 September 2026
This is an MVP draft policy — have it reviewed by a lawyer before public launch.
Who can use invi8
You must be 18 or older and creating the event as the parent or guardian of the child, or with their permission. Guests do not need an account and are not asked to agree to anything beyond the reasonable use rules below.
Your account
Keep your login to yourself — anything done from your account is treated as done by you. Tell us at privacy@invi8.in if you think someone else has access to it.
Acceptable use
invi8 is for celebrations. Please do not use it to:
- Harass, threaten, bully or shame anyone, including through an event title, a message to guests, or a wishlist note.
- Impersonate someone. Do not create an event in another family’s name, or pretend to be invi8, a business or an organisation you are not.
- Publish a photo of a child who is not yours without that family’s consent.
- Post anything unlawful, hateful, sexual, or otherwise plainly unsuitable for a children’s birthday page.
- Collect payments, run a raffle or sell anything through an invitation, or use invitations for advertising or bulk messaging.
- Scrape the service, probe it for weaknesses, or try to reach events that are not yours.
Invitation links are unlisted but not secret. Share them with the people you actually want at the party, and do not post them publicly.
Your content stays yours
Photos, names, wishlist items and the words you write remain yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service — to store your content and display it on your own invitation page to the people you share the link with. We do not use your photos for marketing, and we do not claim ownership of anything you upload. The invi8 software, designs, invitation themes and the name and logo remain ours.
Guest RSVPs
RSVP details a guest submits belong to that guest, and are shown to the host of that event so they can plan. Hosts must use them for the party and nothing else — no marketing lists, no passing numbers on to third parties.
Availability
invi8 is an early-stage product offered as is. We work hard to keep it up, but we do not promise uninterrupted service, and we may change, pause or remove features while we find our feet. Keep your own note of the party details you care about — do not rely on invi8 as your only record.
No payments
invi8 is free to use today and we do not process any payments, gifts or money transfers. Nothing on a wishlist is bought through us: a guest who reserves an item buys it wherever they like, and any link to a shop is a convenience, not a recommendation or a transaction with us. If we introduce paid features later, we will say so clearly before anything is charged.
Third-party links
Wishlist items may point to online shops, and venues may point to Google Maps. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, prices or privacy practices.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, invi8 is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for anything arising from a missed message, a guest who did not see an update, an unavailable service, a duplicate gift, or a link that was shared more widely than you intended. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Ending things
You may delete an event or your whole account at any time; deleting an event also deletes its RSVPs and gift reservations. We may suspend or remove an account or an event that breaks the acceptable-use rules above, or where we are legally required to — normally with notice, and immediately where there is a risk to a child or to another user.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute.
